Dreamworks Story Initiative Test

My story test that pretty much helped me get my job. I did this back in April, and I wish I had more time to work on it - but this was due the same time our films were due - so I had to sacrifice time for both… It’s about 8-9 months old now, and when I look at it again - there are things I wish I could improve upon. 

As for the boards, its about ninja brothers and their clan that attempt to kidnap the emperor’s daughter. One brother gets injured, and to prove himself he must complete the mission. I tried taking advantage of this assignment: wanting to play with the design aspects of the boards. Since it was set in Japan, I studied the composition found in Hokusai’s work, to capture that aesthetic into the sequence. I included some rough thumbnails!

Finished! I really like this one but I kept making little mistakes. I was able to mask most all of them but can you see the BIG one I made in the end? I can’t fix this one so I’m saying I did it on purpose!
